Accessing Position Manager
The link to Position Manager is www.healthcaresource.com/appalachian/hm. The username is your apprhs.org e-mail address. The password is case sensitive.

Forgot your Password or Password Expired?
On the Login screen, enter your apprhs.org e-mail address and click “Forgot Password.”

Accessing Position Requisition
Go to the “Requisitions” tab. When the search screen opens, click “Submit” to pass through that page. On the next screen, click the button that says “Create Req.” The next page will ask for the Job Category and Job Title. Use the drop-down menus to assist in finding your selection. Click “Continue” to see the requisition form. Complete all required fields. At the end of the form, select the next approver as “Director: Gary Abernathy.” Upon clicking “Save,” an e-mail notification will be sent to Gary.

Checking Requisition Status
Return to the “Requisitions” tab. When the search screen opens, click “Submit” to pass through that page. Your “In-Process” requisitions will appear. Click link to “History” in the right column to read comments from Approvers. The Hiring Manager will receive an e-mail notification from the Employment Team when the position has been approved and posted.

Repost a Vacated Position
HR may repost a position only if it was vacated within one week of the new employee’s start date.

To Post a Position Internally
Notify the Employment Team that your position will be posted internally. The position will be withheld from the website. All qualified candidates within the department must be notified of the position and given the opportunity to express interest.

Posting Requirement
All positions must be posted for a minimum of 5 business days.

View Open Positions
Go to the “Jobs” tab. When the search screen opens, click “Submit” to pass through that page. All of your open positions will appear. Review the summary description of your posting for accuracy. Notify the Employment Team with any requests to change your posting.

View Canceled or Filled Positions
Go to the “Jobs” tab. The first page is the search screen. In the blue bar on the right titled “View Job Status,” check the box for “Canceled” and/or “Filled” positions. Click “Submit” to see your positions.

Advertising
All open positions are posted on the apprhs.org website and indeed.com website. Contact the Employment Team to determine a recruitment strategy for your position.

Applications
Candidates are pre-screened through Human Resources for minimum qualifications. As appropriate, applicants are sent to the Hiring Manager for review and consideration. A link to the application will be e-mailed to the Hiring Manger. To see all active applications, go to the “Applicants” tab. When the search screen opens, click “Submit” to pass through that page. All of your active candidates will appear.

Finding Filed Applications
Find one past applicant:
Go to the “Applicants” tab. The first page is the search screen. In the blue bar on the right titled “Search by,” enter candidate’s name, or any known identifying information. Click the “Submit” button in the blue bar. Your candidate should appear.

Find all past applicants:
Go to the “Applicants” tab. The first page is the search screen. Click the link for “Advanced Search.” Use the drop-down menus to change #5 to “Status: All” and #7 to “No Limit.” Click “Submit” to see all of the applicants who have ever applied to your positions.

Interviews
Hiring Managers are encouraged to contact candidates directly to discuss the position and schedule interviews. Human Resources recommends using behavioral interview questions. Be sure to ask the same questions of all candidates.

References
The Hiring Manager or Employment Team may conduct reference checks. References are checked near the completion of the search when the final candidate has been selected.

Pay Quote
The Compensation Analyst will determine a pay quote in accordance with our Compensation Plan.

Offer
External
The selected candidate must be informed that the offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of pre-employment requirements, as conducted through Human Resources.

Internal
The Hiring Manager must submit the Human Resources Action Form to authorize the transfer. The effective date will be determined in consultation with the employee’s current manager.

Regret Notification
Candidates that were not selected will receive regret notification through e-mail.
